On the Passing of Our Friend, Tony Sessa

…I don’t know anything about death even though I have experienced the dying and the aftermath of a loss…what I do know because of those times is about life, what it looks like, what it feels and sounds and tastes like…and mostly I know when I am touched by it…by words and actions, smiles and intimacies, hugs, shakes, and waves of hello and goodbye…tony touched me deeply and I know he knew life…the give of it and the take as well…his all-inclusive smile, the squint of his eyes, the click of those glasses that hung around his neck…his sureness and absolute love of being there…that was what we shared and what he shared with all the others who called him friend…with his beloved family even more, ever more, and forever, he will be that life that touched that helped that saw the humanness in all of us and made him respond with all that was in him…to be missed is the greatest achievement of a life…tony we miss you and wish you god speed…friend, husband, father and life to us all…
